Development Operations is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support their Test Systems Engineering (TSE) group. TSE is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the design, fabrication, and installation of Special Test Equipment (STE) in support of commercial and military ground testing of engines and components. TSE is often asked to provide consultation for test facility integration for sites around the world.
What You Will Do
- Interface with multidisciplinary team to design and implement test facility electrical control and data systems in support of our development and production test programs
- Collaborate with our customers to further understand and define their requirements
- Propose and implement cost effective solutions from the initial concept through the final design, fabrication, checkout, and system turnover to the customer considering the following factors: feasibility, safety, environmental impact, and adherence to industry standards
- Identify improvements to Engineering Standard Work during execution of assigned tasks
- Frequent interfacing with Engine Project Groups, Purchasing, and outside Pratt & Whitney’s vendors required
- Collaborate with capital project managers and lead both high and medium power electrical design for new construction/renovation of site facilities
- Writing request for proposal documents in support of capital procurement.
- Oversee vendors and ensure compliance with industry standards and Company policies, procedures and practices.
- Working knowledge of planning requirements, design, integration and implementing of Power Distribution on site.
What You Will Learn
- This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). Candidates hired will begin their first 2 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP) under Development Operations (DO). This consists of three rotations of approximately 8-months in duration in three different departments across either or both of our two organizations (DO/PSCV&EQ). Upon their 2-year graduation, the candidate will return to their hiring department (1st rotation) for at least 1 year.
- The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Cumulative 3.0 GPA
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualification We Prefer
- Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE)
- Knowledge of Electrical relay logic design, motor control center design, and power and control wiring distribution
- Knowledge of pressures, temperatures, fluid process control and its relationship to the mechanical environment
- Experience using AutoCAD to design electrical elementary wiring diagrams
- Understand and apply various compliance codes such as the National Electric Code (NEC) NFPA 70, the National Electric Safety Code NFPA 70E, and OSHA 510
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing tool such as Six Sigma or CORE to drive continuous improvements in our processes and customer MFA

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
