L3Harris is currently seeking a Senior Specialist Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer to join our growing dynamic facility in Camden, Arkansas. The EH&S is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environment, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulations. Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS. Assists in a variety of duties to include, sampling, observations, training and inspections. Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning, building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met. Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist. Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Work performed under limited supervision.
- Experienced in OSHA 1910 General Industry.
- Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments.
- Assists in accident investigations and recommends corrective actions.
- Conduct routine audits and inspections to identify and eliminate non-compliance issues.
- Manage projects related to energetics and safety; including participation in incident investigation, risk management, and process hazard analysis.
- Conduct training and communication campaigns to raise site-wide awareness.
- Serve as interface and liaisons with employees, manager, customers, auditors, and regulators.
- Some travel required <5.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance (Secret).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant EH&S experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related EH&S experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related EH&S experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in project management.
- Read and understand facility site schematics and building design plans.
- Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) 4145.26M
- Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Familiar with AutoCAD and GIS software such as ArcGIS and ArcMap.
- Knowledgeable in munitions, explosives, and energetic materials, and related disciplines, the effects of munitions, the means of preventing or reducing explosive mishaps, and the relationship between quantity-distance siting criteria and personnel safety.
- Experience and/or training knowledge of Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, Lock Out Tag Out, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety NFPA 70E and Propellant, Energetics & Pyrotechnics.
- Experienced in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry. 29 CFR 1926 and DOD 4145 experience is a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of standards, OSHA, OSHA PSM, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI including familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work within a high pressure and fast-paced environment.
- Served as interface and liaisons with employees, manager, customers, auditors, and regulators.
