Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics, Physics, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related scientific/technical field.
Minimum Experience
- 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of MATLAB (or similar), 3D CAD solid modeling design software, preferably SolidWorks; solid modeling electronic configuration control management software (CDM / PDM) required; and knowledge of typical Microsoft Office suite of software. Working knowledge of Desired – SW application tool development (C#, C++, etc.), Linux OS
- Ability to efficiently apply advanced engineering mathematical concepts applicable to optical calculations as relates to visual performance and optical efficacy; luminance, resolution, contrast, transmittance, reflectance, scattering, etc. Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to conceptualize spatially in 3 dimensions. Ability to recognize and define problems and propose workable solutions. Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to integrate requirements related to technical, cost and schedule.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
