Engineering Aide

Orlando, FL

Contract Position

$26.20-$31.20/Hour

Join a facility renowned for its missile systems and fire control projects, delivering some of the most advanced weapons systems in the world. Work on groundbreaking technologies that redefine combat and strategic capabilities globally, offering a chance to contribute to national and international security.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of electro-mechanical hardware, collaborating with engineers to build, repair, and troubleshoot tactical components used in advanced missile and fire control systems.
  • Design and fabricate equipment used in developing and manufacturing tactical hardware.
  • Assemble and solder components on circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings.
  • Build multi-bay cabinet assemblies for delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing production areas.
  • Collaborate with engineers, drafters, procurement teams, and quality inspectors to ensure accurate fabrication and production.
  • Read, interpret, and provide feedback on engineering drawings and schematics, occasionally correcting design errors.
  • Utilize computer-based systems to track job status, manage quality inspections, and implement engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols when working with hazardous materials and Government-controlled property.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required.

  • Security: Secret Clearance
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical fabrication, including cable/harness work, SMT boards, and test equipment.
    • Hands-on experience interpreting and working from engineering schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials.
    • Strong background in troubleshooting electro-mechanical components using general-purpose and automated test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, waveform generators, etc.).
    • Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications, and government property management policies.
    • Capable of soldering and repairing cables, harnesses, and assemblies, with the ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Experience working with hazardous materials and safety-wiring assemblies.
  • Desired Skills:

    • Certification or knowledge in J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/IPC-7721 soldering standards.
    • Expertise in component rework, including BGAs and CCA repairs.
    • Experience troubleshooting and isolating faults in electro-mechanical systems.
