Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities):

Objective:
Under general supervision, the EDL Technician I is responsible for various tasks within the Protoshop environment. The tasks may include machining, painting, fabrication of sheet metal details and assembly operations utilizing moderately complex blueprints. Interprets sketches, query reports and function with verbal instructions.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

A)tWork from complete moderately complex blueprints and other written and verbal instructions.
B)tResponsible for layout and building of moderately complex development components or assemblies along with first articles with or without the aid of tooling.
C)tProgram and set up machines to close tolerances may be required.
D)tPrepare and paint various materials to match customer Trim and Finish definition may be required.
E)tMaintain a high quality of workmanship and assumes responsibility for work performed in assigned duties.
F)tPerform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

A.tEducation & QualificationtList the Scholarship degree, type, etc. i.e.:
•tHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.
B.tWork Experience - Technical knowledget•t(Acquired through previous jobs, assignments, responsibilities, etc. including language capabilities.) i.e.:
•tTwo years of experience working in manufacturing or related environment required.
•tExperience working in an experimental / prototype environment, or manufacturing setting dealing with modifications to designs, components, or assemblies is preferred.
•tCombination of related education, certifications, licenses and experience may be considered in lieu of minimum required working experience.
C.tProfessional Skillst
•tA working knowledge of MRP systems, scheduling, and blueprints is preferred.
•tMust have some knowledge of CAD systems.
•tExperience with NC programming is preferred.
•tComputer knowledge: explain what computer systems, if any, are required or preferred.
•tMust have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
•tAbility to read and review written communication.
•tSpeech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
