The Lab Services TEAM at the Nashua Canal Street Location is looking for a Laboratory Technician V to join their fast-paced Lab Services team. You will be supporting a wide variety of tasks in the day-to-day operation of engineering labs. These will be made up of administrative as well as some technical skill combined with some mentoring of more Junior Lab Technicians across multiple sites. This position will have you working directly with Program(s), lab users as well as varied stakeholders from multiple departments as directed by the Site Lab Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supports the engineering lab(s), program(s) and the lab Users(s) in the engineering labs assigned to them by the Site Lab Manager. Works directly with the program personnel and lab users with maintaining schedules, workloads and milestones by providing and coordinating tools and supplies required to execute the work being done.
- Maintains the cleanliness, safety and compliance by creating and maintaining a lab culture that corresponds to all BAE policies & procedures and those found within the Engineering Lab Manual.
- Completes multiple assessments, inspections and audits within the expected timeframes. Perform, upload, track and complete all assessments including but not limited to: personnel and product safety, chemical(s), test equipment, external and internal quality, security and ISO ensuring labs are audit ready at all times.
- Understand the Engineering Lab Manual (ELM) and all associated policies and procedures to include outside stakeholders. Remain current with revisions. Review and help update on an annual basis.
- Proficiency in numerous databases: Metrology, Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID), Procurement, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Plant Engineering, Shipping & Receiving, Asset Management, Security.
- Procure, deliver, stock, inventory and disposition materials/equipment following company policies.
- Instruct and assist in training junior technicians as necessary and support Site Lab Manager with projects and junior Lab Services Personnel as required.
- Creating and executing sanitization procedures and System Change Requests (SCR)s.
- Performing portable chiller Preventative Maintenance (PM)
- The ability read assembly schematics and perform small fixes such as replacing a through hole resistor or capacitor or adding a jumper wire to a development board, build up and break down of test stands.
- Works closely with SLM to identify “lab behaviors” and helps foster policies and compliance with the engineering team.
