This Engineering Manager II role is responsible for oversight of Mechanical Engineering design and development functions for the site. They will be responsible for leading critical projects, providing a strong technical support and guidance to the Mechanical Engineers team, driving the Mechanical Engineering efforts and coordinating with other functional teams within Engineering in supporting New Product Development (NPD), R&T/R&D, and Bid & Proposal projects for our Rotating Machines product lines (mainly AC, DC air-cooled or oil-cooled starters and/or generators).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•tLeads Critical Projects and communicates progress and risks to the executive management
•tProvides strong technical insights and guidance to the Mechanical Engineers team to ensure products are designed per SAFRAN Standards: Safety, Quality, Manufacturability, Design to Value
•tCollaborate with Engineering/Technical leadership to provide technical oversight and design assurance of all activities to ensure high quality of Engineering
•tProvides leadership and motivation in managing the activities of the Mechanical Engineering Group to ensure best performance from all within the group
•tResponsibilities to cover multiple product lines involving various mechanical engineering disciplines.
•tPosition will interface with other functional teams within the Engineering department in supporting New Product Development, R&T and Bid and Proposal projects
•tResponsible for resource planning, recruitment, training and mentoring of multi-disciplined individuals for the team to fulfill resource needs of the organization
•tDevelop strong customer relationships to support gaining spanet credibility and route-to-spanet
•tIdentify technology gaps and create a Technology Roadmap that will deliver differentiated product characteristics and new technologies. Integrate new technology from 3rd party companies
•tMaintains familiarity with engineering tools and monitors trends in developing technology to anticipate future resource needs
•tWork effectively with other functional groups (electrical, software/firmware, programs, test lab, supply chain, business development, quality, etc.) to achieve program milestones and other division goals
•tLeads and motivates individuals to work effectively, to develop skills and grow their responsibilities
•tEvaluates workload, resource assignments based on priorities and performance of individuals for their quality of work and effectiveness. Implements corrective actions when necessary
•tEnsure critical resource and skills continuity and develop hiring plans as required. Actively participate in the hiring process.
•tAdheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental programs and culture
•tEvening/night hours may be required
•tExtra hours may be required during business peaks

Education and/or Experience
•\tMinimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
•\tMinimum of eight (10) years mechanical engineering experience with management aptitude in a new product design and manufacturing environment
•\tMinimum of two (2) years managing a team of engineers

Knowledge/Skills
•\tDemonstrated high level of ability, leadership, motivation and aptitude
•\tSolid technical judgement, GD&T knowledge
•\tDemonstrated problem solving skills
•\tStrong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with individuals/teams at all levels within the organization and with customers
•\tKnowledge of various aspects of mechanical engineering disciplines
•\tStrong organizational, administrative and reporting skills
•\tAbility to provide clear direction and delegation

Preferred Skills :
•\tExperience with Rotating Machines
•\tMSME and/or MBA
•\tExperience in technical project / team management
•\tDO160, ARP4754A & ARP4761 familiarity
