Position Summary
SUMMARY
Develop and build new automated equipment. Improve current automation process capability, efficiency, and overall productivity in all areas of manufacturing on new and existing products
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot automation equipment.
- Mechanically assemble electrical wiring and layout of electrical/electronic control panels from engineering drawings.
- Support modification and system improvement project/activities of the Automation department.
- Mechanically assemble actuators, motors, spindles, and other mechanisms.
- Layout, wire, assemble, understand and troubleshoot electrical control systems used in automated machinery.
- Understand and apply basic electrical and electronic principles, standards and workmanship.
- Actively participate and support the plants safety program. Report any injury or near miss immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager. Report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Group Lead, Manager or EHS Manager.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Keep all walkways and aisle free of any debris or clutter. Maintain 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards. Sweep floor and finishing area as needed.
- Actively participate in the High Performance Team designated for your area. The HPTs are meant to improve the work experience by allowing the employees an opportunity to offer suggestions for improvement.
- Daily attendance is a requirement of the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or 3 to 5 years of related electrical/electronic, control panel wiring/troubleshooting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Aptitude for diagnosis, repair, fabrication, and assembly of automated equipment
- Experience with PLCs and HMI programming (Allen Bradley, Click, etc.)
- Basic understanding of Servo Controls and VFD
- Able to troubleshoot, and wire AC/DC electrical cabinets and modify prints as needed
- Basic Programming Abilities (C++, php)
- 3D CAD Modeling experience is preferred
- Proficient at using a Windows based PC, using email, the internet etc.
- Ability to communicate well with floor equipment operators, maintenance personnel, engineering and the Business Unit manager.
