You will be the Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for the ESH team with Missiles and Fire Control. Our team is responsible for evaluating Environmental Safety & Health programs, assess their effectiveness and identify/implement actions for continuous process improvement.



What You Will Be Doing
As the Environmental Health & Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for activities comprised of 60 Safety & Health and 40 Environmental Support as needed. Your responsibilities will include:
• Evaluate Safety & Health programs, assess their effectiveness and identify/implement actions for continuous process improvement.
• Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities to ESH issues, demonstrate the ability to work independently, and interact with leadership on a peer-level basis.
• Represent the ESH organization across multiple levels of the company and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate ESH strategy and objectives to a diverse employee population.
• Assist in shaping the ESH culture within their areas of responsibility and assure full compliance with all applicable ESH requirements.
• Build effective relationships and trust with key stakeholders and business partners thus driving program enhancements.
• Assist with the site’s ESH management system elements and support development and reporting of metrics and performance data.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science Major preferred)
• 2+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Must be able to interpret OSHA regulations, ANSI & NFPA standards, and other associated compliance programs.
• Experience evaluating, applying, auditing, and communicating regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proficient with computer-based tools and applications (Microsoft Office business programs).
• Ability to obtain and hold a government secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Experience reviewing and completing tasks for Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Lockout Tagout (LOTO), Crane & Slings, Confine Space in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience working with environmental regulators at the Federal, State and City level to resolve compliance issues (stormwater, wastewater, SPCC) is a plus.
• Fundamental understanding of occupational safety and health requirements in manufacturing, research, and development (R&D), and construction operations.
• Knowledge of and experience with ESH management system elements, such as ISO 14001/45001 and/or OSHA VPP.
• Understanding of union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
• Ability to make difficult decisions, solve complex issues and influence ESH cultural improvement.
• Ability to respond to internal and external issues to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance the employee experience.
• Experience authoring command media and program documentation.
• Proficient in reporting and accounting tools used at the site, such as Microsoft Office e.g., Excel, SharePoint and SAP system is a plus
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, across levels of the organization.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
