Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting opportunity for an F404 Repair Engineer. The successful incumbent will provide engineering support services, as per DND’s ATO/ADO airworthiness requirements, for the CF18 F404 Engine and secondary power system components as specified in the F404 Propulsion Group Sustainment contract. Duties include repair development for F404 engine components, completing engineering studies as necessary, responsibility for assigned F404 modules for all applicable engineering aspects, creation of various publication amendments
Essential Responsibilities
- Evaluate unserviceable hardware for possible recovery
- Develop & document new repair processes to recover unserviceable engine parts
- Author changes to technical manuals regarding engine operation, troubleshooting & maintenance
- Develop and coordinate repair & overhaul activities for various aero engine components
- Develop/analyze program performance measurables to identify areas for potential improvement
- Liaise with Magellan shop, RCAF, GE, foreign military personnel
- Support failure investigations
- Other duties and tasks assigned by management
Position Requirements
- 4 Year Aerospace College diploma or equivalent, or in absence 10 years minimum of relative aerospace shop floor experience
- Knowledge & Experience of shop procedures, machinery, grinding, NDT, welding, Heat treatments, metal shop knowledge desirable
- Knowledgeable of F404 engine components.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Knowledge of special processes associated with engine repair including welding, brazing, plasma coating, chemical cleaning, machining, grinding, NDT inspection
