The Trainee Facilities Engineer will work as part of the Facilities team to support the sites footprint project, involving detailed surveys of existing aerospace assembly and process equipment. Developing the new layout configuration working with the manufacturing engineering and the tooling team to optimise the layout and manage the procurement, installation and commissioning of the infrastructure facility ready to move, commission and handover the project in its new location.

This role would ideally suit an Engineer experienced in the Aerospace Industry looking to progress into Facilities Management / Project Management Role.

What will I be doing?
Key Duties & Responsibilities;
•tAnalysis of the industrial need, feasibility studies and initial proposals
•tDetail 3d & 2d designs and layout drawings using CATIA and AUTOCAD
•tBuilding services lighting, compressed air, electrical infrastructure and Vacuum services
•tPoint of use services to assembly line, vac, electricity, air, data
•tWorking with surveyors and professional bodies to ensure we are compliant to current
•tlegislation
•tWorking with suppliers to develop a technical and commercial solution to the above need
•tWorking collaboratively with various stakeholders, (manufacturing engineers, tooling, HSE )
•tStrategic planning of new facilities to ensure we are aligned with future needs
•tFacility specifications for RFQ tenders and buy-off criteria
•tEnsure critical geometry is recorded prior to fixture moves
•tPlanning and supervising the safe lifting and movement of assembly fixtures
•tFull control of contractors to Safran and site SHE standards Inc. UK CDM legislation
•tProduction of technical data to train and handover the asset to the operations team
Support on training and fault finding on installed facility post commissioning
•tWorking closely with suppliers during installation and commissioning

What you need from me?
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of building services
- Working knowledge of Aerospace Production Processes

Skills & Qualities
- Time served Engineer Preferably Aerospace
- Knowledge CAD operator 2D & 3D CATIA
- Qualified to HNC Mech Engineering
- Experienced user of MS Office package
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good analytical skills
