Facilities Engineer Specialist (Network Infrastructure and Communications)

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to join the team at our Culpeper, VA site. 

Facilities Engineer will design and develop fiber network to involve facilities buildings.

Essential Functions:

• Under minimal supervision, conceives and plans a variety of complex facilities networking and communication projects, providing technical advice on feasibility, planning, costs, and time requirements. 
• Network design and install network controls
• Coordinate, manage, follow-up and close-out capital projects. 
• Acts as a technical adviser and expert on site and building network design, control systems, operations, and maintenance.
• Ensures that work performed by the Company’s personnel or contractors conforms to national, state and local laws, regulations and codes. 
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior network and communications engineering – facilities experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior network and communications engineering – facilities experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior network and communications engineering – facilities experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of network Communications Infrastructure to include fiber optics, POTs lines, copper cabling, camera systems, and computer/phone systems.
• Ability to coordinate project schedules, vendors, contractors, procurement and across functional groups to complete project milestones.
• Ability to manage, troubleshoot and maintain existing networks.
• Broad knowledge of project management.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation communications skills.
