Field Engineering Specialist Test Representative
Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD
Contract Position
$42.83- $47.83/Hour
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for military tracked and wheeled vehicle platforms, including Abrams, Stryker, Booker, and XM-30 programs.
- Conduct and analyze Contractor, USG Developmental Test (DT), and Operational Testing (OT) for platforms, subsystems, and components.
- Perform direct troubleshooting for software and hardware issues using available technical documentation and resources (Team Center, TM’s, IETMS, iads, EBOM, BOM, C mod, ECO, GDV, etc.).
- Collaborate with company engineers and other teams to resolve test-related incidents, vehicle configurations, hardware/software failures, and integration challenges.
- Support testing at USG Test Sites, including APG, YPG, EPG, WSMR, RTC, CRTC, and DPG.
- Document daily test progress, Engineering Logs, and Universal Incident Reports (UIR).
- Lead and guide mechanics, drivers, test directors, and additional team members during maintenance and test activities.
- Submit technical reports on vehicle testing and field diagnostics, including root cause and failure analysis.
- Provide expert training and support to fielding teams and USG testers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must meet ASR requirements.
- Clearance: Secret security clearance (or NACI) is required.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in operating and maintaining military wheeled or tracked vehicles (maintenance background preferred).
- 3-5 years of USG Developmental/Operational test experience, or equivalent military and USG testing experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting automotive and weapon systems issues.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT) and software like Team Center, Vis Mockup, and iads.
- Licensing: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Travel: 25-35 travel required.
