Job Description
This position is for a Project Test Engineer: The Project Test Engineer is responsible for managing test readiness to assure successful execution of testing in Space Systems. The Project Test Engineer will interface daily with Program, Operations , Quality and Purchasing personnel to ensure that customer committed test schedules are consistently met.
Typical Duties: The main role of the Project Test Engineer is to manage the preparation of testing to maintain program schedules. The Project Test Engineer will:
• Identify upcoming testing from program schedules
• Determine resources (rigs, tooling, instrumentation) needed to perform testing
• Work with lab management to determine the availability of the resources needed to perform testing and work with management to resolve any bottlenecks.
• Coordinate the gathering of test resources
• Coordinate the repair of test tooling and the calibration of instrumentation needed to support testing
• Work with the purchasing group to coordinate testing at outside test locations Applicant must have the capability of working independently and be self-motivated. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal are required.
Ability to proficiently operate common Microsoft Office software products is required. This is a "safety-sensitive" position as prescribed by NASA. Special drug testing/training needed, and inclusion in the random drug/alcohol
program required.
