STS Technical Services is hiring a Functional Test Manufacturing Engineer in Greensboro, North Carolina. This role is a key position within the manufacturing team, responsible for developing test procedures, tooling, and equipment to conduct functional tests on aircraft systems. • Develop test procedures, tooling, and equipment for functional testing of aircraft systems.
• Provide support for detail parts manufacturing and assembly operations in a production environment.
• Develop documentation and procedures to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings to align with manufacturing objectives.
• Act as a liaison between design engineering, tooling, production, and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Analyze statistical data such as process capability studies and throughput rates to improve processes.
• Plan and document functional test processes, tooling, equipment, and quality control methods.
• Identify and resolve production and manufacturing issues related to functional testing.
• Prepare and update functional test planning including BOM configuration and control.
• Submit tooling requests and discrepancy reports to maintain accurate documentation.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.
• Six Sigma training preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in SAP, CAD/CAM, CATIA, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring drawings.
• Expertise in mechanical, airframe, and power plant technical support including installation and fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of glass cockpit mechanical systems, troubleshooting, wiring diagrams, and modifications.
• Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interface with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams while maintaining a professional image.
• Flexibility to travel as needed and adapt to changing work priorities.

• Must be able to work in environments with operational noise, heat, cold, dust, and fuel odors.
• Ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, climb ladders, and move freely for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. with the use of assistive equipment.
• Ability to work in tight spaces, high places, and outdoor environments.
• Compliance with all FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations.
