Job Summary:
The Hardware Engineering Intern will assist Hardware Design and Reliability Engineers to collect relevant data to perform design, reliability and safety analysis.
As an intern at Crane Aerospace & Electronics, you will develop knowledge about the business through exposure to a functional area (such as manufacturing, engineering, and lean principles). You will focus on developing the skills necessary for success by assisting employees with day-to-day job assignments. You may be assigned to additional training or project work. The Companys internship program is intended to provide students from diverse backgrounds with the opportunity to practice business skills learned in school while gaining work experience.
Essential Functions:
- Assist Reliability Engineers to perform reliability calculation prediction.
- Assist Reliability Engineers to collect relevant data to perform reliability analysis.
- Assist Hardware Design Engineers to support design and verification activities.
- Take on special technical assignments as required.
- Work in collaboration with cross-functional peers to complete assignments.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be actively pursuing with two (2) years of completed studies towards a BS or MS degree Electronic or other related Science/Engineering field (Electrical and Aerospace). Must provide GPA, minimum accepted 3.1 on a 4.0 scale.
- A strong aptitude for analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills.
- Familiar with engineering drawings and schematics.
- Must have knowledge in electronic circuits, typical of: Microcontroller/microprocessor, Analog and digital discrete circuitry , Programmable logic device, Power supply circuitry, Statistical and probabilistic techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to organize and prepare technical presentations; Project-oriented and able to multi-task; Effective interpersonal skills in a team environment.
- Knowledge/proficiency of MS Office tools.
- Ability to fulfill a one quarter or semester internship commitment, 40 hours per week
