This position is for an Industrial Engineering professional who is primarily responsible for providing process and workflow improvement support to Avionics Afterspanet repair locations worldwide.  Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, CORE initiatives, facility layouts/reconfigurations, return to service efficiency (RTSE) projects, development of repair target hours and various special projects supporting overall service center operational effectiveness. 

Successful candidates will have experience with Industrial Engineering & process improvement initiatives, leadership of cross-functional teams, and project management support.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Support and/or lead CORE events (5S, workflow, standard work, material handling).

  • Analyze space utilization and provide guidance to support current/future requirements.

  • Prepare and/or direct the preparation of site or section layouts to accommodate changes or new capabilities.

  • Lead major construction and/or reconfiguration projects of Avionics Afterspanet Service Centers globally.

  • Interface with appropriate Facilities personnel to determine Afterspanet priorities & adherence to Afterspanet Facilities budgets, policies & procedures.

  • Manage policies and procedures tied to Avionics Afterspanet repair processes.

  • Lead Return to Service Efficiency projects in support of cost reduction and profitability initiatives.

  • Provide analysis and guidance to repair locations on the establishment of repair targets

  • Facilitate “Best Practices Sharing” across all repair locations.

  • Conduct research studies on new processes, methods and equipment in order to provide recommendations for acquisitions.

  • Perform work sampling studies, analysis and provide recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness.

  • Support major mod programs through the use of line balancing techniques and capacity forecasting tools.

  • Participate in special projects supporting Avionics Afterspanet Footprint and/or Work Transfer.

  • Estimate project costs and schedules and participates in preparation of proposals and presentations.

  • Establish new approaches and techniques to achieve continuous improvement.

  • Work in a self-directed manner on complex tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.6

  • Experience leading matrixed and cross-functional teams.

  • Industrial Engineering or related experience.

  • Process improvement or CORE experience.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • AutoCAD experience.

  • ECAR system experience.

  • Experience with project scheduling tools.

  • Financial experience including business case preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Experience with EH&S, Security, Quality and Regulatory requirements.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
