POSITION SUMMARY
Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
- May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
- Activities may involve using time-study or standard data for a variety of machine, assembly and hand operations, production methods, equipment layout, material handling, and manpower, equipment and material utilization in order to improve operating performance.
- Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
- On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
- Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
- Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
- Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
- Troubleshoot new and existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
- May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
- Engineering degree, specialization in Industrial Engineering
- Master’s degree in manufacturing related engineering field is an added advantage.
Experience:
Over 5 years of related experience working with Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in environment of aircraft production.
Knowledge:
Must possess a complete technical understanding and application knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, assembly, tooling and tools.
Aircraft and operation of its systems.
Product configuration management.
Full working knowledge of and committed to Lean programs and continuous improvement principles.
Skills:
- Experience in Aircraft assembly process
- Proficiency on use of Catia, SAP and Primavera Scheduling systems
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Work in a safe professional manner adhering to Company Standards and all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
Abilities:
- Systemic vision
- Strong problem solving ability
- Manage several projects simultaneously.

- Ability to effectively handle multiple activities simultaneously and successfully function in a cross functional manufacturing environment
- Must be a team player and work well with others in process development, corrective action and problem solving.

- Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
- Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
