Lean Design Industrial System Engineer (d/f/m)

In this context, you will join the Industrial System Design and Modelling department and you will be based in Hamburg. 
Within this department, we work in close collaboration with the Component Industrial Architecture departments as well as all Airbus Plants and FALs to define, develop, deploy and mature industrial solutions to address Aircraft programme challenges (deliver on-time and quality, reduce development and production lead time, reduce costs of Product & Process development & all recurring costs, enable quicker production ramp-up).
We provide New Processes, Methods and Tools (including Design, Modelling and Simulation) to improve and predict our industrial performance.

Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You will contribute to Industrial System Design of Airbus Plants and Final Assembly Lines for future and existing Programs

  • You will support Key industrialization projects with Manufacturing Line Design skills and competences to ensure project outcomes are delivering tangible benefits and long term performance

  • You will evaluate and challenge current and future industrial solutions and give recommendations to Industrial Architects through our innovative digital capabilities

  • You will Develop Manufacturing Line Design ways of working to answer the business priorities.

  • You will increase knowledge and autonomy by coaching Industrial Communities on Industrial System Design & Modelling standards.

  • You will work in different industrial environments and travel across different Airbus production sites

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Strong background in Manufacturing or Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering with deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Operational experience in the Implementation and Optimization of Industrial Systems (Conception phase, Qualification, Implementation, Management of Production Processes).

  • Proven experience in Industrialization and Shop-Floor execution

  • Solid knowledge of Industrial Performance Management.

  • Autonomy and ability to influence, lead the Change and deal with transformation processes in an international environment.

  • Experience with interpreting Discrete Event or Agent based Models or Model Based System Engineering would be a plus.

  • Fluent in English and being able to communicate in German, French is a plus

  • This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
