Description:You will be an Electro-Optical Systems Engineer responsible for helping shape and develop future products as well as executing in the support of existing development contracts.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Electro-Optical Systems Engineer you will be conducting EO/IR analysis and modeling of focal plane and camera performance, supporting in the development of system concepts, and verifying that designs meet requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Acting as project engineer, or technical lead and making plans, monitoring program tasks, as well as tracking schedules, budgets, and earned value.
• Supervising and directing engineers in mechanical, electrical, and optical design tasks and trade studies.
• Performing system debugging, troubleshooting, and providing technical direction in the event of technical failures.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position will require the ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in an engineering, mathematics, or science field
• Systems engineering background
• Strong customer coordination experience
• Expertise in performance analysis of IR camera systems
• Experience leading complex design trade studies
• Ability to lead technical teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
• Expertise in infrared sensor systems and supporting, mechanical, and optical systems.
• Transition of high technology product from Development to Production
• Troubleshooting and failure analysis of sophisticated hardware.
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
• Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited college in related discipline
• Understanding of FPA manufacturing technologies
• Expertise in detector material design and trades
• Closed cycle cryogenic systems expertise.
• Vacuum packaging
• MATLAB programming expertise
• Radiometric testing and analysis of IR systems or sensors
• Familiar with high vacuum and ESD handling requirements
• background or familiarity with electronics and equipment related to infrared video collection, analysis, and test
• Understanding of reliability engineering and 6 sigma principles.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $109,500 - $209,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $125,900 - $237,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.
