What your day to day will look like:
- The Engine Dynamics department is responsible for the qualification of turbomachinery (rotating and static) hardware subject to vibratory (normal unbalance) and transient (blade-off, ice shedding, bird-strike, etc.) loading
- The successful applicant will aid technical experts in expanding the current standard work to increase the fidelity and efficiency of full engine dynamic modeling for the purpose of normal vibration prediction and engine architecture optimization due to unbalance rotor assemblies.
- This candidate will be primarily focused on the following:
- Maintaining and developing new automated object generation within ANSYS workbench for the purpose of automating full engine model development
- Postprocessing rig data from the vibe lab and analytical model development for the purpose of predicting damping at bolted joint and interference interfaces
- Knowledge of any of the following: ANSYS APDL, ANSYS Workbench, ANSYS ACT, MATLAB, Python will be considered an asset
What you need to be successful:
Must haves:
- Be eligible to work in Canada;
- Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship;
- Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired
- Pursuing a degree in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering)
