In this role you will be part of the Test Systems Engineering team (TSE) in the Advanced Technologies Organization and take part in the latest GE NPIs through technology maturation programs. As the Engine Dynamics Lead Engineer, you will plan, execute, and document rig tests using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. You will support these rig tests to ensure safe operation from a vibratory standpoint, ensure rotordynamics CTQs are met, and present results in technical and program reviews. Furthermore, you will team with design, Systems, and the customer to work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Execute the planning, execution, and documentation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Define instrumentation, monitor vibration testing of aviation rigs, and post-process & summarize test results
Develop and execute rotor balance plans for aviation rigs
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on process teams to establish and drive dynamics best practices including supporting and enhancing the development of the rotor dynamic vibration testing process
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers in technical and program reviews
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
BSc or MSc in Engineering
At least 3 years of engineering position
Systems thinking and engine architecture knowledge
Technical aptitude related to components and systems of increasing complexity
Technical drawing and tolerances understanding
Good level of English
Desired Characteristics
Familiarity with vibration analysis, vibration testing and rotor dynamics’ analysis methods
Familiarity with Matlab/Python
Interest in continuing to improve standard processes and improve best practices
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Solid oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Strong problem-solving skills
