Job Description SummaryThis opening is for a design role for GE9X Hot section module within BEC GE9X engineering section. Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. You will be required to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team including but not limited to Supply chain, Assembly, Systems, Programs, Manufacturing Programs, Quality, Repairs, PSE, Materials and other functional teams to achieve the desired outcome for the module.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute design and analysis activities for components of Hot section module for GE9X program for issue resolution, performance improvements, Durability and producibility improvements
- Deliver on Manufacturing support activities such as MRB dispositions and significant process qualifications
- Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity CTHs, Cross functional teams viz. Supply Chain, Repair, MAE, PSEs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes
- Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with proactive communication internally and externally
- Independently manage basic project planning and execution.
- Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions
This role will currently report to GE9X Hot Section Sub-Section manager, and the candidate will work closely with Production Technologies as the GE9X product transitions from its current NPI state into production, and will transition into the Production Technologies team as the production stability matures, providing the unique opportunity to experience NPI ramp and mature production in the same role
Required Qualifications
- BTech/BE/MTech/MS/PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace
- 4+ years of relevant experience on Mechanical design/hardware ownership/ Finite element analysis preferably in aircraft engine/gas turbine domain.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical design fundamentals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams
Desired Characteristics
- Exposure to Heat transfer analysis, Lifing methodologies, Manufacturing processes will be added advantage
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Proven analytical ability
