Job Description SummaryAvio Aero is a world class Leader of aeroengine propulsion, engaged in design and development of turbo prop Catalyst engine dedicated for commercial and Eurodrone application.
In this spirit, we are looking for a young talented engineer in Avio Polska Bielsko Biala location who will perform FEM mechanical analysis of power turbine rotor.
Aim of this role is to support design and Hardware Owners of power turbine rotor leveraging FEM expertise in order to meet safety, quality, delivery and costs requirements.Job Description
Support design activities by performing structural FEM analysis of power turbine rotor, to achieve performance and structural requirements, manufacturability, and business expectation – cost targets and delivery on time
FEM modeling (assumptions & layout, global/sub-modeling strategy, meshing, BC’s and loads application, model validation & tuning) of power turbine rotor with use of Ansys, Hyper Mesh
thermomechanical FEM analysis & design optimization aimed to meet design requirements with use of Ansys, familiarity with scripting and user-defined functions,
post processing (including lifing, crack propagation, crack trajectory & damage tolerance)
reporting and results interpretation in front of Hardware Owners, System engineering, project team, internal and external stakeholders
authoring & check of technical reports & presentations, storage of technical data in selected repositories
Interface with Hardware Owners, Module Design and System Engineering in order to ensure capability and performance of engine and LPT Module components focusing on engine performance and safety
Lead and participate in Technical Reviews with Hardware Owners, Senior Engineering Community and Program Leaders, support Program Control Board
Provide Technical support for Cross Functional Teams – Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Global Supply Chain
Proactively work with raw material suppliers and machining shop solving manufacturability issues and simplifying production
Substantiate manufacturing Quality Notifications in production and quality systems, Manage Source Substantiation Validation (VSE)
Support instrumentation and certification of components according to Aviation Agency requirements
Deliver technical support in case of issues with engine operability, assembly and manufacturing, define root cause investigation and corrective actions
Develop and execute ideas for simplification, product robustness and cost reduction
Qualifications/Requirements and Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Strong technical knowledge of engine components especially in turbine domain, material durability, manufacturing processes and material application in aviation industry
expertise and independence in FEM Analysis – static, dynamic (Ansys, HyperWorks – Hyper Mesh, HyperView)
Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes and material application in aviation industry
Fundamental knowledge and skills related to drawings drafting and 3d modelling. (CAD – UG)
Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Power Point)
Familiarity with business processes & procedures related with NPI
Strong oral and written communication skills – English, Polish
Fundamental knowledge of programming and scripting in order to standardize and simplify analysis process (Visual Basic, Ansys APDL, Python)
Availability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in changing environment
