Job Description SummaryProduct quality review associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform audits on Repair Source Substantiation (RSS) packages to verify repair characteristic accountability
- Review RSS audit results to identify trends and coordinate continuous improvement plans to improve NPI quality and first time yield.
- Develop quality system procedures for NPI process to ensure accuracy, compliance and consistency of NPIs delivered by Engineering team.
- Track and monitor post introduction NPIs for quality issues and drive Engineering/Shop for follow up improvements.
- Act as a focal point for all NPI-related queries and clarifications about Quality/regulatory requirements.
- Support conduct of shop internal audit plan as necessary.
- Drive and promote Quality culture and participate in EHS and other shop initiatives as necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years relevant aerospace experience in repair/manufacturing or a quality assurance role
- Knowledge of general aviation legislation and quality systems (ISO9001/AS9100)
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Basic knowledge of PC software (Microsoft Office)
Desired Characteristics:
- Knowledge of repair/manufacturing fundamentals
- Holds a recognized Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification
- Knowledge of Six Sigma quality concepts and tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing special processes (heat treat, welding, shot peening, coating, chemical processes, non-conventional machining)
- Knowledge of RCCA/HF techniques
- Good initiative and analytical skills
- Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
