The Opportunity

The Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities.

As we continue to accelerate the development program, and expand the aircraft flight envelope through the test program, we are seeking the very best talent from a diverse range of backgrounds to help grow and contribute to our innovative team.

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are looking for an Avionics/Electrical Engineer to join the MQ-28 Integrated Test Team and realise new capabilities through design development, testing and support of the air vehicle and related test equipment.

This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley, Brisbane.

As an Avionics/Electrical Engineer within BDA, you will

  • Actively contribute to the development of a cutting-edge capability through exposure to all facets of the product lifecycle
  • Analyse and translate use cases and requirements into system architectures, interface specifications, wiring installation design and electrical support equipment designs
  • Collaborate with other teams and interpret data to develop air vehicle modification kits
  • Test and validate designs to ensure the system meets operational and functional requirements
  • Provide Engineering support for electrical and avionics systems over the product lifecycle
  • Work towards gaining Engineering Authority for the products you will be developing and supporting

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Electrical, Avionics or related tertiary Engineering degree qualification that satisfy the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust)
  • Previous experience in aviation engineering activities including design development and engineering investigations relating to aircraft electrical, radar, communications, navigation and support & test equipment (S&TE)
  • Previous experience in developing engineering artefacts within the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment
  • A focus on innovative problem solving whilst maintaining safety and quality standards
