As the Manager, Facilities Engineering, you’ll play a pivotal role in American Airlines Technical Operations division by collaborating with Corporate Real Estate, Aircraft Maintenance, and Ground Support Engineering. This position offers the opportunity to manage multiple projects, oversee contractor partnerships, and travel to various maintenance locations. You’ll have a direct impact on ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, making this a rewarding and fast-paced role with a strong sense of purpose.

• Partner with Corporate Real Estate, Aircraft Maintenance, and other departments to align facilities engineering initiatives with organizational goals
• Manage, coordinate, and complete multiple engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards
• Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to document needs and provide business-justified solutions
• Develop and deliver detailed, dimensioned prints or electronic models for construction and maintenance projects, revising as needed to reflect as-built structures
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and manufacturer information to create actionable documentation for repair technicians
• Conduct performance tests, operational optimizations, and performance analyses to enhance system reliability and efficiency
• Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, safety, and overall performance
• Prepare detailed reports and studies, including optimization analyses and special performance studies
• Maintain knowledge of and ensure adherence to pertinent codes, regulations, and standards
• Quickly locate and reference industry standards, legal guidelines, and environmental directives as required
• Mentor and guide engineering team members fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent training/ experience
• 5 years of experience managing, coordinating, and completing projects

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• 7+ years of experience in facilities engineering or a related field
• Experience with HVAC/Central Plant systems
• Experience with project management software and tools
• Certification in a relevant field (e.g. PE, LEED AP)

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Familiarity with basic CAD and drawings
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of compliance requirements for relevant codes, regulations, and standards
• Strong mathematical skills for complex calculations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning abilities
• Must work well under deadlines and high stress environments
• Flexible and adaptable to constant change
