Manufacturing Engineer I
Summary:
This hands-on position provides technical support of Production Operations at Aero Turbine in Stockton, California. The job duties include the design, development and implementation of manufacturing processes, detailed work instructions and production travelers, special tooling/equipment and production floor support required to assemble and overhaul a variety of LRUs as well as full jet engines. The role requires the ability to interpret engineering requirements from design data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications, conduct detailed failure analysis, develop root cause and implement the corrective/preventative actions, demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills including oral, listening, technical writing and visual presentations and have a high level of mechanical hands-on abilities.
Essential Job Duties:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, additional responsibilities shall include:
- Working knowledge/experience of mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing, and collaborative teaming.
- Fluent with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Manufacturing background with automation and shop floor experience.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, specifications and wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge/experience with turbine engine assembly process methods and work instructions.
- Experience with Aerospace/Automotive factory processes.
- Familiarity with AS9100/9110 industry standards and common military specifications.
- Analytical problem solvers. People who go beyond just fixing to identify root causes, evaluate optimal solutions, and recommend comprehensive upgrades to prevent future issues.
Education/Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors (Masters a plus) degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience
- Demonstrate ability to work from prints, sketches, planning, or verbal instructions
- Read measuring instruments, including air gauges.
- Ability to work in area where there is moderate noise intensity.
- Ability and willingness to work in an area where due to normal machining operations there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels)
- CAD software experience important.
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 annual salary
