What You Will Do:
With specific parts ownership, the Manufacturing Engineer II will drive manufacturing process development across multiple process steps that spans the full value stream of the parts. The Manufacturing Engineer II will provide focused & effective leadership in the advancement of MRL elements to drive manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance.
Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs.
Responsibilities:
- As a key member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), significant interaction with product designers, tool designers, quality assurance, systems designers, and other stakeholders is required; use statistical analysis tools to perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product.
- Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Yield & Cost (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) curves and Qualification plan.
- Work with senior management to support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to business objectives, integrated with other continuous improvement activities and CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) initiatives.
- Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews and ensure validation of MRL gate advancements. Use effective scorecards and metrics to ensure progress; lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 2 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management or quality environment or a Masters degree and 1 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management or quality environment
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- 6 sigma Green Belt or Black Belt; Six Sigma project leadership/management/coaching experience; understanding of other continuous improvement skills: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.
- Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics.
- Knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Able to use Minitab and other statistical software.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities.
- Demonstrated proficiency leading and managing a portfolio of cross functional projects.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
