Essential Responsibilities
- Support shop floor to deliver business results while encouraging input from area personnel working within a self-directed workforce (Teaming) environment.
- Exhibit ownership and take responsibility in attaining all aspects of production operation including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development in assigned areas.
- Determine safe manufacturing processes that produce a quality product in the most efficient method of manufacture.
- Design and implement manufacturing processes and systems for control and replenishment of materials.
- Plan and implement process-engineering activities for new product development and current product support.
- Provide manufacturing method development and improvement for current and new products.
- Participate in the development of mid and long term plans outlining projects to support the business in meeting its objectives with a strong focus on cost, part quality and cycle time.
- Conduct training, process planning, evaluate operating methods, select controls, and specifies tools, fixtures, and gages necessary to repeatedly build conforming hardware.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Assist production coaches and associates in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action. Explains technical information to others.
- Execute manufacturing-related quality planning activities.
- Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reductions in designated area.
- Promote internal and external customer satisfaction and develop positive design engineering relationships.
- Act as change agent, understanding and moving the operation toward benchmarked, best of class performance.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or institution (OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in machining or related technical processes in a manufacturing environment).
- Experience in machining or related technical processes in a manufacturing environment

- Electrical discharge machining (EDM) a plus.
- Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools.
- Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
