Safran Aircraft Engines designs, produces, and sells, alone or in partnership, commercial and military aircraft engines offering world-class performance. Through CFM International*, Safran Aircraft Engines is the worlds leading supplier of engines for single-aisle mainline commercial jets. Safran Aerospace Composites in Rochester, NH is dedicated to the production of 3D woven composite parts, made using the RTM (resin transfer molding) process. The first application of this technology is the production of blades and fan cases for the LEAP (registered tradespan) engine, developed by CFM International, designed to power the next generation of single-aisle aircraft. This technology creates less noise and decreases fuel consumption for aircraft engines, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Position Summary:
This position will be a key member of the engineering team supporting the manufacturing of 3D woven composite engine components. This role encompasses everything associated with fan blade or fan case manufacturing process, including, but not limited to, surface prep, prepreg layup, adhesive bonding, abradable application, vacuum bagging and autoclave cure. You will help support and improve the manufacturing process. In addition, this position will include project management, equipment selection, hands-on manufacturing support, process development, strong communication and extensive documentation.

This is a first shift position, Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm
Job Requirements:

Job Specifications
1.\tBachelor's degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant technical degree
2.\t3-5 years of relevant engineering experience required.
3.\tStrong understanding of composite and adhesive cure cycles is preferred
4.\tKnowledge of composite manufacturing processes and tooling preferred
5.\tMajority of time to be spent on the production floor working with equipment, processes and manufacturing personnel
6.\tSelf-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently with limited direction
7.\tRequires a strict attention to detail and strong project management skills
8.\tExcellent analytical and problem solving skills
9.\tExperience with automation of manufacturing processes is preferred
10.\tStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.
11.\tAbility to quickly develop an understanding of the current master data environment (including systems, policies, processes, and procedures)
12.\tUnderstanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and/or 6 Sigma techniques preferred
13.\tProficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
14.\tKnowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards preferred
15.\tAbility to travel within the US and internationally (not to exceed 10%).
16.\tAbility to lift up to 15 pounds, approximately 10% of a standard work day
Working Conditions

1.\tLighting and temperature are adequate.
2.\tEmployee regularly required to sit, stand, and walk
3.\tEmployee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms
4.\tProtective footwear must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 50% of a standard work day
5.\tProtective eyewear must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 80% of a standard work day

The expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $95,000 USD annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.

Candidates for positions with Safran Aerospace Composites must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility verification will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
