Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our team in Bennington, VT. He/She/They will manage quality improvement projects working cross-functionally in the plant. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will lead data driven decision making through the analysis of manufacturing data. He/She/They will implement and maintain quality standards and inspection methods in alignment with Lean processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Quality Improvement Projects through cross-functional teams.
- Provide data-driven decisions on QIPs through analysis of manufacturing defect data (pareto analysis).
- Analyze and interpret data to set priority of improvement projects.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining Quality Standards, Mistake Proofing and Process Development
- Develop tooling and processes to reduce defects and improve First Pass Yield
- Develop inspection methods and standards for implementation of lean processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvement.
- Participate in customer meetings and visits.
- Complete other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred.
Experience:
- 5 years related work experience.
- 5 years’ experience in Quality Tools (8D, 5 Why, DOE, APQP, PPAP, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work with Microsoft office 365 suite. (Excel, outlook, word)
- Ability to participate and lead in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings with geometric dimension and tolerance (GD&T) Y14.5 standards.
- Ability to interpret coordinate measuring machine reports (CMM).
- Knowledge of Discus, Net-Inspect and Epicor software preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of CMM programing software is a preferred but not required.
- (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, GOM, Power-Inspect)
- Knowledge of APQP and associated tools
