THE WORK
We are seeking a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer for this hybrid role in the Tool Engineering group supporting new and existing air vehicle tooling projects.

• Designs and develops new tooling concepts for manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with design requirements and customer expectations.
• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling, incorporating tooling requirements.
• Develops and implements efficient tooling solutions to support production operations, including designing arrangement of machines and tools within plant facilities.
• Specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment, and ensures tools are developed and produced to meet product performance requirements.
• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions, and ensures tooling designs are compatible with manufacturing processes.
• Incorporates inspection and test requirements into the production plan, and ensures tools are designed to facilitate efficient inspection and testing.
• Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques to optimize tooling performance.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment, manufacturing techniques, and tooling solutions.
• Coordinates with suppliers and performs final checks of tooling developed at suppliers to ensure compliance with design requirements and customer expectations.
• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance

You possess a background in manufacturing engineering, tool design, and process development, with excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient tooling solutions.

A level 2 employee is early-career and typically has 1 to 2+ years of professional experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
