Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Contribute on system and component structural integrity assessments to support product definition (e.g. non-linear analyses, fatigue analyses, WEM, load sharing on multiple load path systems, …)

• Contribute on system and component dynamic analysis to support product definition (e.g. system natural frequencies, frequency responses, components dynamics, Campbell diagrams, …)

• Contribute with accountability to design development of assigned components

• Apply probabilistic design methods and optimization techniques to system / component design analysis

• Lead structural integrity tasks during the investigation which might happen in the development phase

• Build and strengthen technical knowledge expertise of the Section in structural integrity discipline, as well as develop hardware owner physical understanding guiding components design for minimum weight or maximum stiffness.

• Issue pre/post-processing and results reports according to engineering policies and procedures, as well as contribute to and participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Aeronautical preferred

• Experience in structural integrity analyses (preferably for aeronautical gearboxes) involving non-linear modelling (material and contacts), WEM, dynamic assessments, sub-modelling

• Good knowledge in structural failure criteria, fatigue analysis, dynamic analysis

• Deep knowledge of CAE tools (e.g. Ansys, Nastran)

• Basic knowledge of CAD tools (e.g. Unigraphics NX)

• Good interpersonal and communication skills, team working and inclusiveness proven capabilities.

• Clear thinking, diligent approach and task oriented; curiosity and passion for mechanical design

• English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral

• Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

• Knowledge of gearbox technical requirements, design solutions, technologies

• New Product Introduction process experience

• Profitable in Structural Topologic optimization, in-house S/Ws and Matlab for numerical algorithm development

• Previous experiences in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience
