Methods Engineer I (Full Time)

Essential Job Functions
Develop and maintain Methods process plans and other related documents.The primary responsibility is to create and maintain the necessary documents for the production of various models and components of Piper Aircraft. The employees knowledge of our ERP system and processes in conjunction with their discretion and judgment are required to develop and maintain manufacturing process planning documents. These documents are maintained by interpreting the Type Design data released from Design Engineering and converting it into the detailed process planning utilized by manufacturing for the production of fabricated parts, sub-assemblies, aircraft final assembly, and completion. These duties require the employee to exercise their judgment and discretion when creating and maintaining process planning to ensure the final product meets the engineering Type Design.

Develop detailed work instructions for Production on new and existing planning
Train and provide guidance and assistance to Methods Planners
Determine when First Article Inspections are required
Provide support to Methods Planners and Production
Review and approve EOs in sign-off process
Plan Engineering Orders (EOs) and Engineering Work Orders (EWOs)
Input items, routings and BOMs into LN
Provide planning for Non-Conformances (NCs) and Corrective Actions (CAs)
Create/Release Tool Orders and TRAs
Develop and maintain generic aircraft line station structures in LN
Design and maintain flow charts for each aircraft model
Proficiently write and maintain constraints within ERP System
Coordinate with Marketing/Sales new Product Features established by engineering options
Maintain Aircraft Product Description forms ensuring compliance with established aircraft configurations
Manage Piper internal website Methods data
Maintain Aircraft Current Production Models form
Assist Production Planning with configuration control
Create and maintain aircraft service wing structures
Plan customer service items and service center work orders
Create and maintain tasks and work centers within ERP system
Attend scheduled meetings
Assist in solving methods and tooling problems
Develop continuous process improvements to existing aircraft structures and detail part routings
Coordinate and assist Manufacturing Engineering with developmental processes
Assist Methods Planners with configuration control for active production orders
Evaluate and eliminate redundant production orders with First Article Inspection
Coordinate projects involving Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring a smooth implementation into production.

Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred
Experience
Engineering degree or 10 years Methods experience and highly skilled. Microsoft Office experience, as well as general computer literacy is also required to perform the duties of this position. Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Teamcenter, TC vis, and NX experience are preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
