As a Principal Lab Engineer you will be an integral part of technical service organization that plans, architects, developments, and supports communication lab environments. The lab environments provide support for the analysis, integration, and test of communications systems. In this role, you will work closely with programs and functional support groups to support a wide range of programs and research efforts. This position will require you to be a thought leader, taking leadership in the conceptualization of creative lab solutions while leading stakeholders toward mutually acceptable objectives.

Applied Signal Technology: WHO WE ARE
What You Will Do:
- Supports site AST customer mission objectives through the development and implementation of lab area plans.
- Provides leadership to establish and implement unified site lab area plans in conjunction with internal and external customers and service providers.
- Supports program specific lab area efforts.
- Provides leadership and management of lab area focused projects.
- Manages site lab area industry, RTX, and AST compliance efforts.
- Manages day to day site lab area operations.
- Mentors staff in lab skills and best practices.
- Manages site acquisition and allocation of lab resources.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in a lab environment.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Active U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance or current SSBI.
- Experience in leadership, development, and execution of lab area projects (requirements, planning, architectures, practices, implementation).
- Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of lab area infrastructure and development systems.
- Experience with the implementation, maintenance, and management of standard lab area practices (ESD, Calibration, infrastructure, equipment, supplies).
- Exposure to the implementation, management, and maintenance of Windows and Linux network systems.
- Exposure to Linux, Python, or similar scripting languages.

AST
The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
