The System Engineering Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE)
The LTAMDS program is seeking an Identification Friend-or-Foe (IFF) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the hands-on test and validation effort of the IFF Subsystem with the ultimate goal of LTAMDS platform AIMS 1203 IFF Certification. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for integrating the IFF capabilities with a network-centric Command and Control (C2) system. This includes developing and identifying use cases, developing test scenarios, working with the systems and software team to identify and resolve issues, and verifying that the solutions are implemented as designed. This role requires both oral and written communication skills to convey solutions and results to teammates and leadership. This position can be located in either Tewksbury, MA or Marlborough, MA, and requires occasional travel to support test activities.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Strong IFF background with desired knowledge with AIMS Certification process
Systems requirements development
Develop test cases/scenarios to verify performance requirements
Lead/support IFF system validation of performance
Statistical and numerical analysis of IFF performance data
Using computer interface tools (Linux, Ethernet) to intercept and record message data fields for subsequent analysis
Analysis tool development in support of problem identification and resolution
Collaboration with Systems and Software Engineers to develop and implement solutions
Present findings and solutions to Leadership and/or Customers
This position requires daily on-site support and is not open to remote work possibilities
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
Experience with design, development, and analysis of cooperative radar (IFF) systems
Experience with signal processing techniques in different propagation environments (e.g., multipath)
Design experience in the following radar system areas; antenna, digital beamforming, spread-spectrum waveforms, cryptology principles, multi-sensor track management, adaptive signal processing, clutter mitigation techniques, sensor resource management and mission planning
Ability to analyze IFF Transponder Truth Data
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Requirements development experience, including use of DOORS
Experience with MATLAB/Python/C++
Experience with the development of DoD-standard design reviews: e.g., Preliminary Design and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR) and Test Readiness Review (TRR)
Experience with technical writing and oral presentations
Systems Engineering experience on DoD systems
Additional focus areas include signal processing and waveform design, phased array and digital beamforming technology, RF communications basics (inc. link analysis), radar search and track basics, target and threat modeling, integration and test of large radar systems, MBSE.

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
