The Process Engineer Trainee is responsible for learning process design, operation and implementation. Will learn to improve our processes to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Developing, configuring and optimizing manufacturing processes from inception through to start up and completion
• Maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of production-related manufacturing equipment and processes required to manufacture a high quality product in a repeatable and cost effective manner
• Assessing processes, taking measurements and interpreting data
• Designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes
• Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates, quality of output and safety
• Perform risk assessments
• Provide process documentation and operating instructions and conducts training
• Other tasks and activities as required

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

Academic:  Bachelor’s Degree in Technical or Engineering discipline

Experience:    

• 0 - 1 year of experience working in Manufacturing Engineering experience is preferred, aerospace preferred
• Technical knowledge of casting industry and/or metallurgy is desired
• Excellent technical skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office and process engineering software packages
• CAD or AutoCAD skills. Solidworks experience a plus

• Communication skills with ability to and interact with shop-floor personnel and multiple levels of management

Additional Information:

• Physical Demand: This position requires ability to sit, stand, walk and good vision with or without correction
• Environmental Demands: This position will sometimes be exposed to cold, extreme heat, dust and vibrations.
• Noise Demands: When in manufacturing area can be high.
