Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering or related discipline preferred
• Equivalent or relevant experience will be considered.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years investment casting experience required
• Good organization and interpersonal skills
• Experience with land-based turbine product is desirable
• Excellent written communication skills required

• Strong performance reviews with positive accomplishments with PCC.

Responsibility:

• Utilizing customer specifications, the Process Engineer develops and optimizes casting methods to manufacture single crystal, directionally solidified and/or equiaxed industrial gas turbine blades, vanes and related parts to meet customer and production requirements.

• Champions the development of specific investment casting processes to meet required customer specification, quality, and production goals.
• Responsible for investment casting process improvements including elimination of defects such as cracks, shrinkage, grain defects, and the improvement of metal utilization.
• Develop casting processes, define controls and develop solutions to process related programs.
• Coordinates with product engineer, production engineers, supervisors, and employees and the metallurgical laboratory.
• Communicate with customers on metallurgical issues.
• Prepare process approval packages on developmental jobs or revised processes.
• Provide hands-on, floor level investigations and problem solving.
• Respond as necessary on the off shift to advise on and provide solutions to process problems.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors, and peers.
• Accept special projects as assigned.
