The objective is to assist San Leandro operations in meeting its business and financial goals through the elimination of process variability. The development and implementation of statistical and analytical controls for internal and external consistency will be a key component resulting in first time process yield improvements and scrap reduction. The engineer’s performance will be measured on his or her ability to contribute to the plant operation’s P & L.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for identifying and attacking process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process that are not maintained in a controlled fashion.
Assure all process engineering proposals and activities are in compliance with customer and/or regulatory requirements.
Audit of operation departments for compliance with procedural requirements.
As required, update of procedural requirements and training of applicable operations staffing.
Reduction of total scrap by a minimum of 20 on assigned part and/or product family assignments.
Execute pipeline (cost reduction) projects that result in annualized savings of $150,000.00 minimum.
Continually look for ways to reduce operational costs, projects may be in the form of material reduction, variable cost improvement, or aforementioned scrap/rework reduction.
Establish expert reputation with plant staff managers concerning process variability concerns.
All other duties assigned.
