The Process Safety Engineer reports to the site EHS Leader and has the primary responsibility to support and develop process safety programs. The scope of this position will be supporting the development and deployment of site PSM procedures and practices to reduce process safety risks and support general process safety activities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in process safety risk identification, assessment, and management processes for all fourteen elements under OSHA 1910.119.
- Achieve Process Hazard Analysis Facilitator qualification.
- Facilitate Site Management of Change processes.
- Facilitate Root Cause Analyses in support of incident investigations.
- Support the implementation of PSM standards, incorporating key learnings from GAP assessments and best practices from industry.
- Coach and develop others in process safety and deliver training to increase PSM knowledge on site.
- Develop KPI’s to be used for assessing effectiveness of PSM systems and routine Management Reviews
- Lead programs to maintain and improve Site Process Safety Information.
- Other EHS duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university (or HS diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- 8 years of engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing others
- Working knowledge of process safety management processes
- Experience with Management of Change processes
- Passion for driving excellence in Process Safety
- Experience working with highly hazardous materials
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to interact with various levels of employees within the organization and site
