Job Description SummaryAn exciting opportunity to be part of the Wales Quality Control Team, working in partnership with Operations at a shop level to promote adherence to Quality and Safety Management Systems and conduct error investigations.
In this role you will drive Quality improvement and engagement within operational areas, and work with Quality peers, operational teams, and other support functions to assure the highest product Quality standards in accordance with regulatory and customer specific requirements.
The role will require you to promote a Quality culture at a shop floor level, by enhancing shop presence, supporting Quality queries, and conveying Quality metrics for continuous improvement.
The role will require you to conduct error investigations in-line with the Safety and Quality policy to identify root cause(s) and work in partnership with Operations and other support functions to determine permanent preventive actions to prevent future events.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities
- Conduct safety critical and engine test failure investigations, identifying true root cause and present out to customers and tech forum as required
- Promote a Quality culture throughout the business
- Investigate significantly out of tolerance items for product safety and compliance
- Participate and present at the Read Across sessions with a mindset of presenting network best practices to the Wales leadership
- Supporting pro-active and re-active Quality concerns
- Be the primary focal for customer and regulatory audits in-line with business audit plan
- Communicate with direct teams, and relevant business leadership on Quality related issues and Quality metrics
- Work cooperatively with the operational teams to identify systemic quality issues within the business and support in developing robust root cause, corrective and preventive actions
- Cover Quality Control Leader position as required
- Participate in the independent review of investigations
Qualifications/Requirements - Significant experience in an aviation overhaul environment or a fast-paced industrial quality role.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, oral and written skills
- Computer literacy is essential to the position
- Effective at managing multiple priorities under a tight deadline
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Accountable, takes responsibility for decisions, actions and results
- Resourceful, seeks simple solutions to complex problems
- Should be able to work under their own initiative whilst still supporting the team structure
- Ability to lead and influence peers
- Error investigation experience
Desired Characteristics- Experience in Aviation sector – Quality systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken and the ability to interact at all levels – including senior business leadership, regulatory representatives, and customer / operator representatives.
- The ability to exercise role flexibility.
