Overview

This position exists to support the Quality Assurance department in developing inspection parameters, test methods, techniques, and procedures to assure compliance to customer requirements. The Quality Engineer approves machine, process, and supplier qualifications, reviews change orders, audits processes, facilitates customer/third-party audits, and responds to discrepant material and corrective action requests. This position may be involved in other projects as needed by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Pay range is $90k-100k annually depending upon experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate customer and third-party audits
  • Plans, establishes metrics, and executes the quality assurance systems
  • Communicates with all departments regarding quality system issues
  • Manages customer projects and concerns
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems to control the quality assurance processes (MRB, CAPA, RMA, Change Control etc.)
  • Reviews, comprehends, and communicates product requirements and change requests
  • Participate in the internal audit program and corrective action process.
  • Perform capability studies
  • Analyze and report trend data to evaluate processes
  • Conduct contract review and coordinate supplier quality activity
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in A STEM Field

Experience:

  •  Minimum 3 years in Quality Engineering position
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to facilitate and support customer and third-party audits
  • Advanced computer skills (i.e. creating forms, data manipulation, basic programming)
  • Advanced software knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. email, calendar, creating tables, graphs, performing advanced calculations, using plug-ins, redlining documents)
  • Experience with product lifecycle management software (e.g. Agile)
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning software (e.g. E1)
  • Experience with statistical software (Minitab, QI Macros)
  • Experience creating process control documentation (PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, Inspection Plans etc.)
  • Experience with production qualification documentation (PPAP, AS9102)
  • Ability to review and sign-off on process documentation
  • Ability to learn and navigate and participate in the development of custom/specialized software
  • Ability to interpret and communicate requirements from design control documents (drawings, routers, technical specifications)
  • Experience with root cause analysis tools
  • Understanding statistical process control (SPC)
  • Experience with mechanical test equipment (e.g. Chatillon force tester, United tensile tester, surface profilometer)
  • Understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements
  • Advanced ability to problem solve
  • Understanding of statistical methods (AQL, mean, variation, control charts, histograms)
  • Advanced technical writing skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of ISO 13485 requirements (desired)
  • CAD proficiency (desired)
  • LSS Greenbelt (desired)
