SUMMARY: Reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Engineer position is responsible for quality functions flowed to Composites Horizons through ISO 9001, AS9100, AS13100 and Nadcap. A Quality Engineer requires hands-on experience in multiple quality functions. Strong analytical, group leadership, and communications skills are required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in contract review for customer requirements
  • Defining quality flow down requirements to external providers and Purchase Order approval
  • New product development activities
  • Participate in the creation and improvement of Inspection Fixturing
  • Process flow diagrams (PFD)
  • Transition CHI attribute quality performance to SPC data base
  • Respond to customer concerns/complaints
  • Oversee SPC and associated activities
  • Support internal process, AS9100, & NADCAP audit activity
  • Assist in Root Cause & Corrective Action activity
  • Support First Article Inspection function
  • Prepare Inspection checklists
  • Prepare monthly defect reports for assigned programs
  • Perform organizational training (Certified Operators)
  • Support the Inspection Team on production goals
  • Assist the Continuous Improvement department with program improvement
  • AS9145 & AS13100 reporting for assigned programs in support of Zero Defects Program

Background Knowledge Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience reading, understanding, inspecting to engineering drawings, and associated specification requirements
  • 4-year Engineering degree or equivalent experience and education in Quality Engineering
  • Knowledge of GEAE, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, Rolls Royce, & Boeing Quality Systems a plus
  • CQE, or equivalent preferred
  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification a plus
  • Military, Commercial, FAA requirements experience a plus
  • Basic Quality Engineering responsibilities: (AS9145)
  • Human Factors
  • Functional understanding of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Fluent in English
  • Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • U.S. citizenship required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85,300 to $127,900 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
