Here at Collins Maintenance Repair and Overhaul UK facility in Marston Green, we provide specialist technical support for Electronic Engine Control, Fuel Metering units, Actuators and Pump units widely used in the Aerospace industry.

Reports to:            Quality Manager

Type:                      12 to 13 month contract only

Shift:                      Core Days - Full time working on-site at location.

Position Summary:

To plan and coordinate manufacturing quality activities and improvement programmes.

Ensure that all products are manufactured to relevant international standard(s) and meet or exceed the expectations of all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work alongside manufacturing to improve operational performance
  • To support quality policies and procedures that are followed throughout the business that contribute to consistent high-class performance in all areas
  • Represent the business with customers with the objective of inspiring confidence and enabling positive cooperation in the quality of products and services provided
  • Ensure the identification and control of all non-conforming products
  • Drive for regulatory compliance by supporting audits as carried out by internal auditors or external agencies
  • Develop, promote and lead continuous improvement activities
  • Provide support and assistance to manufacturing in development and execution of corrective actions
  • Develop the site Part 145 Safety Management system, capturing key metrics, looking at trends and creating executive reports to the business 
  • Develop and monitor production line/business unit performance metrics and initiate improvement plans when appropriate
  • Contribute and participate in Material Review Board’s
  • Develop ERP competencies on organisational, regulatory and supplier systems (ETQ)
  • Travel nationally and internationally (on occasion at short notice) in line with business requirements
  • Take initiative and seek results in a structured way
  • Clear communication (both verbally and orally) to all levels within the organisation on quality related topics
  • Supporting internal and customer new product launch meetings ensuring that quality requirements are clearly defined
  • Building professional relationships with suppliers

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Studying towards a relevant degree in Quality, Engineering or other relevant technical discipline.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
