Job Description SummaryThe Development Quality Engineer supports Engineering projects by assuring that the projects allocated to them follow their agreed and approved engineering plans. The quality assurance engineer, in conjunction with the DQA project focal, supports the development of the quality assurance plan, and then, by means of audits and reviews, helps the project demonstrate compliance.
Through product audits for early prototype units and conformity inspections for Qualification units, the Product and Test Integrity (PTI) team within DQA assures product integrity throughout the development process. Through knowledge and understanding of business processes and Quality requirements, facilitate compliant solutions to engineering problems experienced during development. The PTI team perform Qualification Test set-up inspections to assure that Qualification tests are applied in accordance with the customer approved test procedure. Expedite outstanding Quality issues and track late design changes in anticipation of the Production FAI and conduct a robust FAI to validate the correct consumption of the design by manufacturing, and that Quality risks during manufacture have been addressed.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager on assigned projects to achieve process assurance to programme and budget.
- Support DQA project focal to Monitor and control the DQA budget against the agreed BoE and Project Specific Quality Assurance Plan informing project of budgetary spend against achievements.
- Conduct timely DQA activities as detailed within the Project Specific Quality Assurance Plan, including auditing, document reviews, test oversight, attending reviews etc; raising DQA records and process Non-Compliance (NCs) where and when appropriate.
- Provide status reporting to project and the DQA team.
- Establish and maintain communication with the engineering project team and project management to ensure the voice of DQA is heard, while resolved any DQA issues in a timely manner.
- Broadening knowledge of standards, practices and procedures in own discipline to execute functional policy/strategy; still developing functional knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Highlighting any need for assistance as and when required. Mentoring and training will be provided by senior team members for issues outside of defined policy/parameters.
- Activity support, facilitate and promote improvement initiatives within the DQA team.
- Has experience of manufacturing processes and systems including ERP and TipQA
- Possesses a high level of integrity particularly as applied to Formal Inspection activities.
- Is capable of sustained attention to detail and accurate recording of information.
Required Qualifications
- This role requires basic engineering experience.
- Regulated industry experience.
