Job
Details:The Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Department is
looking for a talented Engineer to provide technical support for the CH-53K
Helicopter development program. The successful candidate will serve as a
subject matter expert to enable the program to translate field and repair data
into actionable analysis. The individual will work as a member of an Integrated
Product Team to influence design, support detailed analysis on events that
occur during Development/Flight Test data for assigned IPTs; support trending
analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action investigation, development and
implementation tracking. The individual will also provide event scoring and
Corrective Action Factor development/justification and support development of
reporting CDRLs, growth curves and other R&M analyses (predictions, FMECA,
etc.).
Candidate may also support daily event entry
into the Failure Reporting, Analysis & Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
database via review of operations, test logs and NAVAIR maintenance databases;
and capture event evidence via interviews with maintainers, pilots, Marine
maintainers, photos, test/data logs, etc. Candidate may support daily joint
preliminary-scoring with NAVAIR team members.
The candidate should be capable of performing
quantitative reliability, maintainability and direct maintenance cost
predictions, system fault tolerance assessments, Failure Mode and Effects
Analyses (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and maintainability timeline
evaluation. Work as part of the aircraft platform Integrated Product Team (IPT)
in support of Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) efforts.
A course of study with emphasis on numerical
analysis and statistics, with knowledge of aeronautical systems, is desired.
Candidate should possess excellent written
and oral communication ability and must be a self-starter that requires a
minimum of supervision.
Computer familiarity with Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Picture Manager (or similar photo imager tool) and Outlook.
Experience with Relex/CAFTA, Raptor, WeibullSmith, Hyperion or other data query
tools is preferred, but not required.
A&P license and/or military aviation
maintenance background is highly desirable.
Experience in interpreting operation sheet
instructions, engineering drawings and specifications as well as familiarity
with Flight Test processes is preferred.
Knowledge of products, information systems
and Overhaul and Repair procedures is desirable. Experience supporting CH-53K
development and flight test is preferred.
Must be comfortable building relationships
with customer and hourly-workforce.
Preferred Work Location – Pax River NAS, MD
or Stratford, CT or West Palm Beach, Florida are OK.
Interface with Logistics Support Analysts,
NAVAIR Supportability and CH-53K Design IPTs & GSE Design Engineering to
review LORA defined Intermediate and Depot Maintenance tasks to understand
support equipment requirements; acceptance inspection, operational checkout,
disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair/replacement, assembly, and test.

Refer to the Aircraft Maintainability System SAMS Data Base to review
Organizational, Intermediate, & Depot Maintenance Task Analysis for the
various systems on components on the CH-53K.
Review Supplier SDRLs upon receipt to understand supplier
recommendations for Intermediate & Depot maintenance support equipment
requirements.

Review existing production tooling for Client manufactured components for
application for Intermediate and Depot Level Maintenance tasks.
Working with NAVAIR Lakehurst & NAVAIR Supportability,
determine if existing peculiar and common support equipment in NAVAIR/DOD
Inventory can support CH-53K Organizational, Intermediate, & Depot
Maintenance Tasks.

Prepare tracking files that identify support equipment that is required for
each maintenance task for a system or component. The tracking files will track
all peculiar & common support equipment identified.
Using the SAMs Data Base, prepare Peculiar Support Equipment
CDRLs (SERDS Support Equipment Requirements Data) for Peculiar Support
Equipment (PSE) required to support Organizational, Intermediate, & Depot
Maintenance Requirements.

Create and manage lists to ensure proposal responses are accurate to approved
maintenance plans.

PREFERRED
EXPERIENCE:
-A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe/Powerplant
certification is desired.

-Demonstrated knowledge on various types of aviation related ground support
equipment is desired.

-Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) experience in a Depot/Overhaul
Repair facility.

-Strong Microsoft Excel and Word experience.
