What does this role look like?



• This position is located at SWFLANT on the Kings Bay Naval Base.

• The Safety engineer will support the SWFLANT mission by developing, implementing and sustaining safety programs in a wide variety of disciplines including Ordnance, Radiation, Environmental, Hazardous Materials, Ergonomics, Fall protection and other industrial processes.

• The job requires full time onsite support and may occasionally require shiftwork.




Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Kings Bay, GA, and will be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a safety, environmental, and/or industrial hygiene discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.
- Previous experience working with safety programs in a manufacturing, production, or DoD program.
- Strong digital literacy with Microsoft Suite programs.
- Minimum requirements include, but not limited to, working from elevated platforms and ladders as they relate to safety activities, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- You will need to be a US Citizen (No dual citizens), and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Please note:
No clearance is required to apply but will need to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance to start.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Experience with Fall Protection, HAZMAT, Personal Protective Equipment, and Ergonomics.
- Previous OSHA certifications or classes.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
