What does this role look like?
• This position is located at SWFLANT on the Kings Bay Naval Base.
• The Safety engineer will support the SWFLANT mission by developing, implementing and sustaining safety programs in a wide variety of disciplines including Ordnance, Radiation, Environmental, Hazardous Materials, Ergonomics, Fall protection and other industrial processes.
• The job requires full time onsite support and may occasionally require shiftwork.
Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Kings Bay, GA, and will be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in a safety, environmental, and/or industrial hygiene discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Previous experience managing ESH programs in a manufacturing, production, or DoD Program.
• Strong digital literacy with Microsoft Suite with focus on writing concise, logical, grammatically accurate analytical reports to communicate the results of environmental health studies to management and partners.
• Minimum requirements include, but not limited to, working from elevated platforms and ladders as they relate to safety activities, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• You will need to be a US Citizen (No dual citizens), and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Please note:
No clearance is required to apply but will need to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance to start.
Desired Skills:
To be successful, ideally, you should also have:
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or other safety related certification.
• Experience with developing and implementing OSHA programs such as Recordkeeping, Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, Job Hazard Assessment, Injury Investigations, Laser Safety, Fall Protection, Plan Reviews, Hazard Communication, and Personal Protective Equipment.
• LM21 green or black belt or other continuous improvement tools and techniques knowledge.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
