Raytheon Vision Systems is looking for a talented Semiconductor Equipment Engineer in Goleta, CA, while providing support at our Lompoc site as needed. The Engineer applies specialized knowledge and skills in production equipment maintenance engineering. This role is responsible for implementing inspection and maintenance processes to ensure optimal performance condition of sophisticated machinery and specialized process equipment. This will involve system diagnostics, repair, adjust, and maintain specialized process equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure that it is functioning reliably and complies with process specifications. You will participate in the introduction and application of new application developments using repair techniques in maintenance engineering, which includes responding to production equipment emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes. Implement an established maintenance program and maintain detailed maintenance records so that recurring problems with machinery, equipment, or parts can be identified and addressed. May also require to calibrate, or adjust equipment, machinery, and instruments so that it complies with production specifications or instructions. Maintain tools and repair equipment in good working order.
This role may require occasional off hours support to meet factory demands.
What You Will Do
- Communicate technical documentation effectively both written and verbally.
- Read Engineering schematics and technical drawings.
- Identifying failures using basic electronic test equipment and common hand/power tools.
- Work in a clean room environment, capable of lifting 28lbs.
- Adherence to environmental health and safety programs including electrical safety, gas safety, hazardous materials, material handling, and wearing personal protective equipment.
- Perform hands on system diagnostics, repair and maintenance on Semiconductor Photo Lithography Equipment, Steppers, Aligners, Metrology Spectrophotometers, and electro-mechanical devices.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience. Or an advanced degree and 3 years of related experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with installation of Capital Manufacturing Equipment and Special Test equipment.
- Experience with electro / mechanical devices.
- Good interpersonal skill, be dependable and be able to follow through on multiple concurrent assignments.
- Experience in the maintenance troubleshooting and repair of semiconductor processing equipment.
- Experience in Production Equipment Support of: Knowledge of Test Probers, High Vacuum Systems, Cryogenics, Compressors, Turbo Pumps, Etch and Deposition systems, Temperature Control Environmental chambers experience.
- Technical Military Training / Experience.

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
